All Spring Break activities are free, please come and have fun at the library!
Monday (3/18)
10 AM: Yoga Storytime: geared towards ages 3-7 yoga storytime consists of reading a yoga focused book while doing the demonstrated yoga poses
12 PM: Card making/ Iris Paper Folding- for all ages, iris paper folding is a unique way to decorate cards (as show in the picture), we will also have other card making activities out, letter writing, and envelopes will be provided to be able to deliver their cards
3 PM: Game Time: Virtual Reality, Nintendo, board games- due to research on VR and children’s brains the VR is limited to ages 9+, but younger children are invited to participate in the other games.
Tuesday (3/19)
10 AM: Storytime: geared towards ages 4-7, stories and fun activities
2 PM: Harry Potter Wands: ages 9+, made out of clay, chopsticks, paint, and marbles. Each child/adolescent can make one wand. If younger children come we will have clay for them to play with.
4 PM: Jewelry Making: instructions on how to make fidget bracelets (see in picture), additional beads and string will be available for own creations
Wednesday (3/20)
10 AM: Music and Movement Storytime: geared for ages 0-4, music, dancing, and stories
2 PM: Claymation: learn how to model clay characters and use slow-motion animation to bring them to life! For examples of Claymation look at Nightmare before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Wallace &Gromit, etc. We will be teaching the basics of slow motion and the technology used.
4 PM: Teen Art Journaling (ages 10-18): Teens can receive a book to turn into an art journal- paint and other art supplies are provided. This activity continues each week and teens can come and create after spring break if desired
Thursday (3/21)
10 AM: Kindergarten Readiness Storytime: geared for ages 3-6, this storytime is focused on reading and activities that prepares children for kindergarten such as letters, numbers, and shapes
1 PM: Building wrap rockets: learn about snap buckling to build a wrap rocket that can be shot and wrap around plastic bottles, table legs, trees, etc.
2:30 PM: 3D Pens, intro to 3D printing: create cool shapes using a burn free 3D pen, basics of 3D design will be taught using Tinkercad-we will work towards learning how to make keychain
4 PM: Procreate (Digital Art): age 10+, learn how to use the app to create cool digital art
Friday (3/22)
10AM: ASL Storytime: stories with ASL interpretation and fun activities
11AM: Robotics: building moveable Lego creations
2 PM: Parent/ Child Painting: children and parents can paint together using canvases, this month we’ll be doing bubble wrap paintings
3:30 PM: Building Kits- different options available to build, examples seen in picture
